Fall is a great time for making crafts. It gets cold outside and I like staying inside and baking. I also enjoy sewing and creating new projects. I like matching fall colors that resemble the colors outside. I make bags and purses and sell them at a local art gallery this time of year. Below are just a few of the new ones I am taking to the shop today. I hope you like them and leave a comment if you do. They are good sized. I used one to take to a breast cancer survivor luncheon and was able to stuff all the freebies in one bag when everyone else had 3 bags.
Went by the local Apple Orchard today. They were packed with people buying apples and cider. The pumpkins were lined up in rows and the mums were beautiful. All so colorful. Kids playing on the trains. Isn't this just the coziest idea ever?
Its just so simple and elegant looking. All it is, is some tuna fish cans, cleaned out and wrapped with some coordinating craft paper and hung by some twine. The small votives make a nice reflection of light and can set a great mood on a chilly night.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4917297905072693152.post-2673392918049839342011-12-10T10:28:00.001-08:002011-12-21T19:47:36.085-08:00<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Meet Jean Blanco
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> YEAH, just today i have finished my second jean quilt. I made one for my
son in law and he named it. Yes, he named it Jean Blanco. So this is
Jean II i guess. Its jean on one side and an aqua, green and purple
pattern on the other side. It is so soft and warm I just love it. Start with an 8 inch square of old blue jeans and back it with an 8 inch square of any color you want of flannel. Then sew an X from corner to corner. Sew them together with a half inch seam, clip all the seams as you go. Clipping seams is the hardest part but so worth it as they get fuzzy as in the first picture. I made a pattern on the back but have also made the back all red colored too. That's up to you. Measure the bed you want to put it on and make that size.
A girl came over and picked up my son and whisked him away. Only for a day mind you, she said she would bring him back tomorrow. They are on the way to meet her parents. Hey this must be serious stuff. They are cute together tho. He seems more grown up lately, not the little boy we all remember, but more thoughtful, more of an individual. I used to know where he was every minute of the day, what he had for lunch, who he was with and what they talked about and did. I don't know most of these things anymore and I miss that.
Now I know new things about him. People tell me how polite of a young man he is, how he holds doors open for people, offers to help, washes his own clothes, gets a haircut without being told hes looking scruffy. He works, works out, gets his homework done. He is good.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4917297905072693152.post-15713964670713175212011-11-12T10:37:00.000-08:002011-11-12T10:37:25.376-08:00Welcome to The Fall ShopHi. My name is Paula. I live in Illinois among the corn and bean fields. The fall is ending and winter beginning, but Fall is my favorite time of year and I live it all year long. My favorite colors are the browns, golds and reds and greens. I love Fall food, the weiny roasts, the chilli's, the soups, the stews. I love to bake the coffee cakes, the cookies, pumpkin pie. I like the wind blowing the leaves by my windows and the bright colored mums are the last to go. I love blankets, quilts and love being warm under them.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1
